Aida Nath Ogwuche Takes On Benue State's House of Representatives
Aida Nath Ogwuche is a lawyer, politician and philanthropist who is running for a seat in the House of Representatives in Benue State.
She is campaigning under the People's Democratic Party for the post of representative of Ogadibo/Ado/Okpokwu Federal Constituency.
Education and Career
Ms Ogwuche is a graduate of the University of Buckingham where she studied law. A practising lawyer in Nigeria, she also attended the London School of Business and Finance, where she obtained a Global MBA in oil, gas and energy management.
Ms Ogwuche is the personal adviser to the governor of Benue State on issues around Liaison and is the founder of the Aida Nath Foundation, a philanthropic organisation that occasionally donates items to Internally Displaced Persons.
Campaign
In May 2022, Ms Ogwuche won the primary elections and secured the ticket from PDP to campaign as its official candidate for those running for the Okpokwu/Ado/Ogadibo Federal Constituency. She beat Hon. Francis Ottah Agbo, the incumbent House of Representatives member at the primary elections with a total of 71 votes against his 35.
This iconic win makes her the first woman to win a ticket from PDP to represent that region at official elections since the party's inception.
