This week, Women continue to fight for the right to their lives, the right to their bodies and the right to equal work responsibilities. Document Women gathered stories from around the world. 

  1. Mexico

To celebrate the day of the dead, activists staged a march in honour of the deceased, bringing attention to Mexico’s alarming rate of gender-based violence in the country.

  1. Democratic Republic Of Congo

At the height of the Ebola outbreak three years ago, women in Congo took up leadership positions in their community and performed work that was previously considered set aside for men. This article follows the lives of Congolese women who took up construction to build a treatment centre.

  1. Tunisia

In 2019, a schoolgirl posted photos online of Zouhair Makhlouf, a parliament member of the Qalb Tounes party, alleging that he performed a sexual act in his car outside of her school. This case prompted Tunisia’s #EnaZeda (#MeToo) movement.

This week, this landmark event made it to court.
