Professor Benedicta Egbo is campaigning for the post of Nigerian president ahead of the 2023 elections.
Campaigning under the National Rescue Movement (NRM) party, she was one of the earliest women to express interest in the post of president.
Education and Career
Professor Benedicta Egbo is a professor based in Canada. According to a report by Independent NG, she was born in Kano and is from Delta State.
She teaches educational courses at the University of Windsor and received her Phd from the University of Toronto.
She declared her intention to run in Asaba, Delta State where she mentioned that "Nigeria is ripe for a female president".
Ms Egbo also stated that her reason for contesting is because she believes that Nigeria can reclaim its future once more and be the giant of Africa if she is at the helm of affairs as president.
She also has criticised the increase in corruption under the present administration calling it a "national disease".
Her electoral visions include a total revamp of the economy through poverty reduction and revitalising the labour sector with more welfare programmes.
