Brazilian Anaesthetist Who Raped Pregnant Women Arrested
A male anaesthetist in Brazil who raped a pregnant woman while she was drugged and undergoing a caesarean section, carried out other identical attacks on the same day.
DailyMail reported that Giovanni Quintella Bezerra, 32, was arrested on suspicions of rape after a secret filming showed him orally raping a woman shortly after heavily sedating her. This occurred at the Hospital da Mulher in São João de Meriti in Brazil's capital Rio de Janeiro.
The woman's husband had been asked to leave the room without being able to see the newborn and only discovered what happened to his wife on television when the doctor was arrested.
Hospital staff who recorded the rape, said that the doctor had already carried out two identical procedures that same day.
In one of them, it was revealed that Giovanni "wore an open cloak on himself" and stood in a manner that prevented anyone from seeing the patient neck up.
He has been arrested and transferred to to the prison of Benfica where he is facing charges of rape that could amount to 8-15 years in jail.
