Doja Cat has created the first-ever codable music video for her song, Woman, a hit single off her second and most recent album Planet her. The music star invited users and fans to unlock the content of the video using code.
In a tweet posted on Saturday, the singer announced that she had teamed up with GirlsWhoCode, an organization promoting and supporting women and girls in technology with clubs and college groups in the U.S, UK and India and over 450,000 girls who have been mentored and encouraged to code.
“I teamed up with @GirlsWhoCode for my Woman music video and created the first-ever codable music video!” Doja tweeted.
- Dojacode is designed to give the users and fans an interactive experience. Enabling them to direct the music video using Code. Users can unlock hidden video content using basic coding languages. From changing nail designs to controlling the sky to manifesting Doja herself out of thin air, DojaCode allows fans to play the role of music video director by altering key creative elements and unveiling hidden easter eggs. The initiative was created in partnership with Mojo Supermarket, the creative company behind the campaign for Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty fashion show. The partnership also includes Creative Digital Production Studio, Active Theory and Doja Cat’s label, RCA records.
Dojacode opens up to the song playing in the background granting the user access to Planet Her. The user is then introduced to the three programming languages(CSS, Python and Java) that will be used. The user is then guided on specific instructions to input and how. Users then watch as moments in the video change and the video wraps up causing the user to leave Planet Her and share the scenes they have created and shared.
