Here Are The Women Running For Senatorial Positions In Abia State's 2023 Elections

Ahead of the elections in 2023, Document Women is spotlighting the women running for political offices across the country. The Independent National Electoral Commission released an official list of all the individuals standing at the polls next year. 

For Abia State, These are the three women running for senatorial positions in Abia South and Abia North senatorial districts.

 

Blessing Okwuchi Nwagba

Blessing Okwuchi Nwagba is a Nigerian politician and sociologist by profession. 

She is a member of the Abia State House of Assembly. She is running for the position of senator for the Abia South senatorial district under the All Progressives Candidate Party (APC).

She has a PhD in Sociology from the University of Port Harcourt and is the former director of Belzy Pharmaceuticals.

Ms Nwagba has been awarded the Odo Abia award, the second highest award for women in Abia State.



Nwosu Emmanuela Nnennaya

Nwosu Emmanuela Nnennaya is a Nigerian politician.

She is running for the position of senator for the Abia North senatorial district under the Allied People's Movement Party (APM).

 

Carol Dike-Okorafor

Carol Dike-Okorafor is a lawyer and Nigerian politician. She has two degrees in Health and Physical Education and Law. 

She is a member of the International Federation for Women Lawyers and has worked with the Federal Ministry of Sports.

A native of Amuvi, Arochukwu, she is running for the position of Senator for the Abia North senatorial district under the All Progressives Grand Alliance Party (APGA).
