According to reports out of France, 51 men have been arrested and charged with rape after a woman's husband allegedly drugged her every night before inviting said men to rape her.
The investigation uncovered 92 alleged rapes and lasted for 10 years, according to The Telegraph.
The husband has been identified as Dominique, as confirmed by authorities. His wife claims that he laced her food with an anti-anxiety medication.
Subsequently, while his wife slept, he would invite these "guests" into their home in Mazan, France, to engage in sexual acts with her.
A criminal investigation into paedophilia, racism/anti-Semitism, and the sale of illegal substances led to the deletion of the forum's exchanges.
Three years ago, during a preliminary inquiry, law police learnt about the films after the suspect was caught trying to photograph a woman in a changing room using a hidden camera.
According to the Telegraph, the police now have a USB drive with footage of Dominique's sex acts stored in a folder he labelled "ABUSES." The titles of the hundreds of videos indicate a date, a first name and the nature of the actions, according to the French newspaper.
Investigators say that Dominique forbade 'guests' from smoking and wearing perfume since the strong odours would cause her to wake up. They were also instructed to leave their cars near a school and make the journey to the residence on foot after dark.
The suspect, from nearby Mazan, reportedly found the men on “a son insu” – a French internet forum where members discuss performing sexual acts on women without their consent and often when they are drugged.
Some of the men charged claimed they had no idea the wife had not consented to the sexual acts, while one person denied it was rape, saying: ‘‘It’s his wife, he does what he likes with her.’’
According to prosecutors in Avignon, the suspect insisted that ‘‘none of the men who came to his house gave up going through with sexual acts on his wife given her state’’.
Prosecutors, as reported by the French daily Le Monde, said that Dominique "never used violence or threats" to force the rapes to happen, and that "each individual was in possession of his free will to stop these acts and leave."
In November 2020, when investigators first questioned the woman, she spoke highly of her husband, praising him as "a great guy" and "kind and caring." She claimed he had tried to convince her to consent to partners swapping but she had turned him down claiming she didn't like it when someone touched her "without her having feelings" for them.
She apparently started piecing together her past once the police gave her access to the videos. The woman claimed that she experienced flashbacks and that her frequent weariness and ''absentmindedness'' could be traced back to the drugging.
She tested positive for four STDs during her medical checkups.
Reportedly, the woman has initiated divorce proceedings.
