London: Sexual Predator Preying on Muslim Women Prompts Police Manhunt

By Azeezat Okunlola | Oct 20, 2023
After many reported sexual attacks on Muslim women on public transportation, police are searching for a male suspect.

According to investigations, the predator rides buses in west London, sits next to his victims, and touches them without speaking to them. The crimes have occurred primarily on buses in the afternoons and evenings in the Ealing, Hammersmith, Westminster, and Hounslow regions, and the Met Police has issued photographs of a guy they want to locate and speak to in connection with the crimes.

Between February 2022 and September 2023, more than ten occurrences were reported and are currently under investigation. The suspect or victim got on the bus at Westfield Shepherds Bush, Ealing Broadway, or Acton High Street, according to the Met Police.

Detective Sergeant Matthew Brown, from Met's Roads and Transport Policing Command, said: "We are aware of social media posts regarding this individual and appreciate the concern that these incidents will cause. We would like to assure the community that we are doing all that we can to identify and locate the suspect.

"While his face is covered in the images, we are hoping that anyone who knows him will recognise him or his clothing and get in touch. Similarly, if you believe that you may have been targeted by this man, but have not yet spoken with police, please do get in touch, at the very least so that we can know that you are okay and are being supported."

Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 101 or post via X @MetCC quoting reference CAD 8412/21Sep. or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
