Nimbus Media Ltd has announced a call for entries for its Nimbus Aid Project. The project seeks to support 10 women-led SMEs and pre-seed startups with ₦2 million worth of advertising each on Nimbus’s outdoor advertising screens across Nigeria.
Since 2016, the Nimbus Aid Project, formerly Nominate A Charity, has supported organisations in Nigeria’s advertising space. This year, the project is focusing on organisations and businesses providing economic opportunities and jobs.
Nimbus Media’s managing director and CEO, Olawale Adegoke, says, “With the ongoing economic challenges faced by SMEs and startups, it is understandable that they do not have resources for promotional campaigns. As a result, we are collaborating with our partners to help these businesses grow.”
Each winner will receive ₦2 million worth of advertising on Nimbus boards across Nigeria. They will also receive opportunities to profile their businesses through partnerships with TV and other media houses.
The Nimbus Aid Project 2022 is being executed in collaboration with the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), TechCabal, and Marketing Edge magazine. Together with a group of judges, these partners will help select deserving beneficiaries who will receive advertising support from Nimbus.
“Partnerships such as this give us the opportunity to support SMEs in Lagos. Giving them visibility on this platform will expand their businesses and increase profitability. An increase in profitability means the ability to create jobs and contribute to the reduction of unemployment in Lagos State,” Director, Strategy, Funding and Stakeholder Management, LSETF, Ms Sheila Ojei, said. “We commend Nimbus for this initiative and are open to collaborations that can drive the vision of LSETF to create more jobs for Lagos residents.”
Also speaking, a representative from Big Cabal Media noted: “Entries for the 2022 Nimbus Aid Project will run from September 22, 2022, and close on October 6, 2022. After the initial call for entries, 20 finalists will be selected from the first phase, and the eventual 10 winners will be chosen from a public vote that will be announced later.”
To qualify, applicants’ businesses are expected to be registered companies with businesses that have the potential to create jobs and economic opportunities.
