Nigeria's Oborududu, Adekuoroye and Kolawole add Gold, Bronze to Team Haul

Blessing Oborududu was crowned Commonwealth Games champion again. To clinch Gold the wrestler defeated Canada's Linda Morais 5-1 (victory by points) in the final to defend her title in the Women's Freestyle 68 kg category.

"ANOTHER GOLD MEDAL ALERT! @Blessingoborus as expected has clinched the GOLD medal in women's Freestyle 68kg Wrestling event. Oborududu🇳🇬 defeated Canada's Linda Morais 5-1 (VPO1) to win Nigeria's 2nd GOLD medal in Wrestling," Making Of Champs said on Twitter. 

Esther Omolayo Kolawole won a Bronze medal for Nigeria 🇳🇬 in the Women’s Wrestling 62KG event

Odunayo Adekuoroye also successfully defended her Commonwealth Games title. In the women's 57kg freestyle wrestling, Adekuoroye defeated India's Anshu Malik 7-3 (victory by points) in the final.

Odunayo Adekuoroye 🇳🇬 has won a GOLD medal in women's 57kg Freestyle wrestling for #TeamNigeria, defeating her Indian opponent Anshu Malik 7-3 (VPO1) to secure Nigeria's first GOLD medal in Wrestling. Adekuoroye came under pressure, but she was equal to it👏👏," Making of Champs congratulated the athlete. 

Team Nigeria's medal haul has now risen to a total of 16 medals.
