It all started with Badé Obasa, the founder, who felt the pangs of homesickness while in Ottawa and envisioned a warm and welcoming community for international students. In December 2013, she hosted her first event, bringing together a group of 10 international students, and the response was overwhelming.
With each passing year, Badé continued to host events, and her home became a hub for connecting, supporting, and celebrating international students in Ottawa. Fast forward to August 2022, when Badé founded The Badést Experience, dedicated to curating high-quality event experiences that foster social wellness, particularly in Ottawa's black community.

Badé Obasa's journey is a testament to her diverse skill set and passion. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Carleton University (2017) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources Management from Algonquin College (2019). With over a decade of cross-functional experience spanning mental health, hospitality, HR, and the events industry, Badé is a true visionary.
