SUDAN
About twenty-eight hospitals in Sudan have been attacked since the outbreak of the armed conflict between rival factions of the military government. This fighting began on 15 April.
More than 604 people, including civilians, have been killed, and thousands more injured, a UN agency said this week.
“We estimate in Khartoum alone, we have 219,000 pregnant women, and 24,000 of those women will need to deliver within the next three months. That is an enormous amount of women who have to deliver without the requisite healthcare facilities, clean water, electricity, and some kind of transport,” said Laila Baker, the United Nations Regional Director of Arab States.

JORDAN
According to investigations conducted by the Public Prosecutor for the Grand Criminal Court, Three women had been murdered within a week for 'honour'.
The Public Prosecutor arrested three men, including a father, in connection with the three murders. In the first case, the 48-year-old father set his 19-year-old daughter on fire while she was asleep. He poured gasoline around her bed and inside her room, before sealing the room and starting the fire.

Chef Hilda Baci Bassey is currently attempting to break the existing record for the Guinness Book of Records for World’s longest cooking marathon.
The TV producer, Actress and Foodpreneur started her 4-day cooking marathon challenge on the 11th of May and she is now fast approaching the record time.
The event—holding at Amore Gardens in Lekki, Lagos, seeks to showcase Hilda’s culinary skills using various local and intercontinental recipes to put Nigeria on the global culinary map of the World.

A man is suspected of shooting and killing his girlfriend after she reportedly went to another state for an abortion, Dallas police say.
Officers were called to a parking lot Wednesday after Gabriella Gonzalez, 26, was killed, according to a Dallas County arrest warrant.

WOMEN IN SPORT
For the first time, a female referee—Joy Neville of Ireland—has been selected to sit on the men’s Rugby World Cup officiating panel. Neville has also been picked to serve as one of seven Television Match Officials (TMO), who provide information to help referees make accurate decisions.
She previously was the first female TMO for a top-level men’s Test match in 2021 after refereeing the women’s World Cup final in 2017.
