I’m studying architecture (currently doing my master’s) and I can relate to this even though I’ve not started working. In 100l, a boy in my class asked why girls bothered to study archi when we’d still end up in the kitchen. In 300l, a random girl told me she never knew girls were allowed to be architects. In 400l(just last year), another boy was angry because I refused to send him my assignments and he told me there was no point “forming” when I should be looking for a husband after school.
It is demeaning for someone to say things like this in this day and age, and not because they genuinely care for us, but because they think such jobs should be reserved for men. The audacity.
