Beyonce Becomes The First Black Woman to Top the Billboard's Country Chart
Beyonce has become the first Black woman to ever top Billboard's country music chart, thus cementing her place in history.
After her latest hit "Texas Hold' Em" debuted at the top of the country radio list this week, the Grammy winner accomplished the feat. The song, along with her second single "16 Carriages," debuted at No. 9 on the same list. She dropped both of them on February 11, during the Super Bowl.
On March 29, Beyoncé is set to release her forthcoming country-themed album, "Act II," which is said to contain both of these songs. The album "Renaissance," released in 2022, is also known as "Act I: Renaissance." This is her follow-up offering.
Following the airing of her Verizon ad during this month's Super Bowl, Beyonce unveiled the new full-length album.
Billboard reports that since the rankings' inception in 1958, Beyonce has become the first female artist to top both the Hot Country Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts. Justin Bieber, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Ray Charles are the only other artists who have surpassed both of them.
